About PUENTE
Our program is dedicated to empowering parents to identify and seek services that meet the needs of their children and themselves. Parents connect with a "Promotora" who shares aspects of her lived experience, culture, and language. By promoting collaboration and understanding, we strive to create a support network that enhances the well-being of families and strengthens communities.
What does "PUENTE" offer?
In the "PUENTE" program, we offer you a space where you and your family can find support, understanding, and resources to face challenges together.
What does it consist of?
A series of 12 sessions between you and another parent to share information, answer questions, and identify next steps. You will discuss topics such as how to obtain the necessary services for your child, how to advocate at school, and how to generate social support, among others. We will ask for information about your child to together determine what is most important to discuss during these sessions.
When? and Where?
Meetings generally occur once a week at any time you set with the Promotora, and typically last 1 to 2 hours. PUENTE meetings can take place at your home, via video/phone, or in a public place (like a park or a café). It depends on what is most comfortable for you.

We form a support network where you not only receive help but can also contribute and feel part of something bigger than yourself.
